AIBEA FLAYS DELAY IN FILLING TOP SLOTS IN PSU BANKS
The All India Bank Employees’ Association (AIBEA) has urged the Central Government to fill up the vacancies at a fast pace for six major nationalised banks as they are headless and a couple of other banks are without executive directors.
In a letter to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, AIBEA General Secretary, C.H. Venkatachalam said:
“The post of Chairman and Managing Director of Banks like United Bank of India, Canara Bank, Syndicate Bank, Bank of Baroda, Indian Overseas Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, etc. as well as the post of Executive Director in Allahabad Bank, Andhra Bank, UCO Bank, Union Bank of India, etc. remain unfilled.”
“We thought it fit to draw your attention to the same and urge upon you to take expeditious steps to fill up these top posts in the banks without further delay,” Venkatachalam said.
Appreciating Modi’s interest in the Jan Dhan, Yojana Venkatachalam said that the union has been demanding that Right to Banking should be made a fundamental right.
