Anupam Shrivastava has been appointed the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of state-run BSNL from January 15. Shrivastava has been appointed CMD of BSNL for a period of five years or till the time of superannuation at the age of 60 years. “Government is focusing on connecting unconnected people with telecom services including high-speed broadband. As BSNL CMD, it will be my top propriety to work with government in connecting people at affordable cost, expeditiously and at turning around BSNL into a profitable venture,” Mr. Shrivastava said after assuming the office.
Prior to this posting, Mr. Shrivastava has served as Director (consumer mobility) BSNL. He has also worked as senior General Manager at Jodhpur, Ajmer and Jaipur in Rajasthan Telecom Circle.
M Damodaran appointed as Non-Executive Chairman of ING Vysya Bank
ING Vysya Bank, has appointed former Sebi chief Meleveetil Damodaran as its Non-Executive Chairman. Damodaran, Director of the bank, has assumed charge as part-time Chairman effective January 14, ING Vysya Bank said in a statement. Damodaran, a former IAS, was Chairman of the capital market regulator Sebi from 2005-2008.
Parigi named Network 18 group CEO
A.P. Parigi, who built the Radio Mirchi brand for the Times Group, has been named group CEO of the Reliance Industries-controlled Network 18.
