Visit Malaysia 2026: A Tourism Renaissance Built on Culture and Experience

Malaysia is positioning 2026 as a defining year for its tourism revival. Through Visit Malaysia 2026, the country is blending warm hospitality, cultural depth, and immersive storytelling to reconnect with global travellers, especially from India.

In December 2025, the High Commission of Malaysia in New Delhi hosted a strategic tourism engagement event. The programme showcased Malaysia’s ambitions for 2026 and introduced the official Visit Malaysia 2026 mascots to Indian stakeholders.

India as a Strategic Tourism Partner for Visit Malaysia 2026

Malaysia views India as one of its most important tourism markets. Between January and December 2024, over 1.13 million Indian tourists visited Malaysia, marking a strong recovery and steady growth.

Building on this momentum, Tourism Malaysia launched a year-long outreach strategy under Visit Malaysia 2026. The focus is on increasing arrivals, strengthening cultural connections, and offering tailored experiences for Indian travellers.

At the heart of the campaign are Wira and Manja, two mascots inspired by the Malayan Sun Bear. As the smallest bear species native to Malaysia, the Sun Bear symbolises biodiversity, conservation, and warmth.

Introduced alongside the Visit Malaysia 2026 logo, the mascots reflect Malaysia’s commitment to sustainability and welcoming tourism. Their friendly design appeals to families, young travellers, and first-time visitors.

Surreal Experiences and Sustainable Tourism

The Visit Malaysia 2026 theme, “Surreal Experiences,” highlights the country’s diverse offerings. From rainforests and islands to world-class cities, Malaysia presents a balance of nature and modernity.

The government aims to attract over 40 million international visitors in 2026. The strategy combines cultural festivals, eco-tourism initiatives, and immersive experiences that support economic growth and environmental responsibility.

Cultural Diplomacy Meets Travel Aspirations

Malaysia’s tourism strategy goes beyond numbers. Through partnerships with airlines, hospitality groups, and cultural institutions, the country is strengthening visibility and access for Indian travellers.

As Visit Malaysia 2026 unfolds, Malaysia positions itself as a destination that is vibrant, responsible, and deeply connected to culture. For Indian travellers, it promises meaningful journeys shaped by warmth and authenticity.
