In a decisive step, India Post has unveiled three premium delivery services. The launch took place on March 15, 2026, at Rang Bhawan Auditorium, Akashvani Bhawan in New Delhi.
This move marks a pivotal moment for one of the world’s largest postal networks. It positions India Post to compete in a fast, technology-driven logistics landscape.
At the core of this transformation lies a clear promise. Speed and reliability will now operate at a national scale.
Reimagining Speed in Public Logistics
India Post introduced three new services:
- 24 Speed Post
- 48 Speed Post
- 24 Speed Post Parcel
These services bring time-bound delivery commitments aligned with global logistics standards.
The 24 Speed Post service guarantees next-day delivery. Meanwhile, 48 Speed Post ensures delivery within two working days. Dedicated processing windows and priority air transmission support these timelines.
In addition, 24 Speed Post Parcel focuses on fast and reliable parcel delivery. It caters especially to e-commerce businesses and small enterprises.
Together, these offerings signal a strategic shift. India Post is moving from a volume-driven model to a service-oriented logistics network.
Leadership and Vision Behind the Transformation
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia led the launch. He serves as the Minister of Communications and Minister of Development of North Eastern Region.
Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, Minister of State for Communications, also attended. Senior leadership from the Department of Posts joined, including Secretary Vandita Kaul and Director General Jitendra Gupta.
During the address, Scindia outlined a forward-looking vision. He emphasised that India Post must evolve into a modern logistics platform.
He highlighted a critical point. India Post’s unmatched physical reach must combine with speed, efficiency, and digital integration.
He also linked the initiative to India’s economic growth. Efficient logistics will support entrepreneurship, e-commerce, and inclusive development.
Phased Rollout with National Ambition
India Post has launched these services across six major cities. These include Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.
This rollout forms the first phase of a broader national plan.
According to the roadmap, 24 Speed Post and 48 Speed Post will expand across Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities by December 31, 2026. Meanwhile, 24 Speed Post Parcel will gradually reach additional markets.
This phased approach reflects both strategy and practicality. It ensures scalability without compromising service quality.
Competing with Agility in a Changing Market
India’s logistics sector has evolved rapidly. E-commerce growth and rising consumer expectations now demand faster deliveries.
Private courier companies have long dominated the express segment. However, India Post’s latest move signals a strong intent to reclaim relevance.
The organisation holds a unique advantage. Its network spans both urban centres and remote regions.
By integrating speed into this network, India Post creates a hybrid advantage. It combines scale with service assurance.
For businesses, especially MSMEs and startups, this brings cost-effective logistics solutions. For consumers, it ensures faster deliveries backed by trust.
Beyond Services: A Structural Shift
These new offerings reflect more than just service upgrades. They signal a deeper transformation within India Post.
The organisation is improving sorting infrastructure and air connectivity. It is also enhancing tracking systems through digital integration.
As a result, India Post is transitioning into a competitive logistics player. It aims to operate at the pace required by a digital economy.
A Defining Moment for India Post
As the launch concluded, the message was clear. India Post is not merely adapting—it is evolving.
With 24 Speed Post, 48 Speed Post, and 24 Speed Post Parcel, the institution steps confidently into the future.
A century-old network is now learning to deliver at the speed of a new India.
